Terms and Conditions

Overview

All specimens, including butterflies, insects, and bones, are ethically and sustainably sourced. Because these pieces use natural materials, each specimen will vary in size, color, and shape. Even pieces featuring the same species will have unique characteristics, which means that no two items are exactly alike. This ensures that every piece is a distinct, one-of-a-kind work of art.

Commissions

  • Deposit: A 50% deposit is required to secure your commission and begin the piece.
  • Timeline: Please note that commission times vary. Because the process involves hydrating, pinning, and creating each piece, as well as sourcing specific specimens that may not be in my current inventory, processing time can take 4 to 10 weeks. This does not include the shipping time for the piece to arrive to you.
  • Final Payment: The remaining balance must be paid in full before the finished artwork is shipped.

Care Instructions

To ensure the longevity of your artwork, please follow these care instructions:

  • Humidity & Moisture: Keep specimens in dry, low-humidity areas. Avoid bathrooms or rooms with high moisture, as heavy steam can damage the specimen and lead to mold or mites.
  • Sunlight & Heat: Avoid direct sunlight and proximity to heating sources. Long-term sun exposure can cause specimens to fade at an accelerated rate and may cause the glass display to fog.
  • Temperature Control: Do not store displays in areas with excessive heat, such as near fireplaces or in attics. High temperatures can cause the adhesives holding the specimen in place to melt or fail.
  • General Handling: These pieces are intended for display only. They should be kept within indoor environments. Please be mindful where it is stored and/or displayed.

Refunds

All sales are final. Because I work with delicate, natural specimens, refunds are not standard and are only issued at my sole discretion. If a piece arrives with an issue related to my assembly or construction, please contact me within 48 hours of delivery. If I determine that the damage is due to a flaw in the assembly process, I am happy to offer a repair to ensure your piece is exactly as intended. Please note that this does not cover damage caused by improper handling and environmental exposure. *Please see Care Instructions.*

Shipping

The pieces will be shipped via USPS or UPS and insurance will be included. Every item is securely packaged to prevent damage while in transit. However, I cannot control how a piece is handled once it is in the possession of the carrier. If your order arrives damaged or broken, please contact me within 48 hours of delivery so I can contact USPS or UPS regarding the issue. *Please also refer to the Refunds section for additional information.*
